Jim Ghedi

Jim Ghedi hails from Sheffield, South Yorkshire and although clearly well versed in the history of folk music, he stands out as a potential torch bearer for a new generation of respectful, yet experimental performers. As his music develops away from his previous records ‘A Hymn for Ancient Land’ (2018) & ‘In the Furrows of Common Place’ (2021) released on the Basin Rock record label and his collaborative duo records with welsh guitarist Toby Hay released on Topic Records (2023), his sound emulates an even more brooding, dark and electronic world which is mirrored in his piercing lyrics and singing. On this new album he also collaborated with musicians such as Cormac MacDiarmada (Lankum), Ruth Clinton (Landless), Dean Honer (Moonlandingz, I Monster).

Over the years Ghedi has been performing headline tours across the UK & Ireland and also supporting & touring with bands such as the aforementioned Lankum but alsp Richard Dawson, Martin Carthy, Shirley Collins.
