Al-Qasar

When continents collide, they make a thunderous sound. Al-Qasar has termed their music, Arabian Fuzz. They pay retro-futuristic psychedelic rock, with one foot rooted in the Mojave Dessert and the other in the Saharan sands. The music is accompanied by no less than four different languages, being Arabian, Turkish, Amazigh and Bambara. In common, these languages serve to deliver poetic frontal attacks on all forms of social oppression. Its hard to believe that Al-Qasar’s first full length WHO ARE WE? (Glitterbeat Records) came out in 2022, because this band sound like they have played together for far longer, than they have. It seems like the most natural thing on earth, that their output is legit psych-rock from the 1970s, akin to that of Anatolian descend. Yet, they carve out their completely own sound, distinct to them.
