Founded by Collin Hegna, longtime bassist for The Brian Jonestown Massacre, the Portland band blends dusty desert guitars with brooding synths, post-punk pulse and darkly melodic songwriting. Federale moves through a shadowy world of psychedelic rock, gothic romance and spaghetti-western drama. Their latest album, Love & Other Lies, trades sprawling cinematic arrangements for something more immediate and personal: a midnight drive through fractured realities, old vices and fading illusions. Equal parts haunting soundtrack and sharp-edged rock ’n’ roll. A midnight soundtrack for a world coming undone.
