Since his initial appearance in the psych rock band Wand back in 2013 Cory Hanson has been continually driving forward. Releasing 4 solo albums, a duo project with Ty Segall, an eccentric electropop deroute with the band WHITE and collaborations with indie heroes like Bill Callahan and Bonnie “Prince” Billy.
With Hanson’s fourth solo album “I Love People” from 2025 (Drag City Records) hismusic took drifts like a warm spring breeze, blending 70s singer-songwriter intimacy with bursts of 60’s pop and psychedelic energy. On I Love People, his songs unfold with cinematic detail, balancing humor, melancholy, and spontaneous joy. Live, Hanson and his band create a space where each note and lyric reveal the quirks and contradictions of everyday life, inviting the audience to wander, laugh, and lose themselves in the music’s expansive, warm embrace.
